As a world leader in the design and manufacturing industry, Active Dynamics Novi is seeking an eager and enthusiastic Welder Level 2 to join our successful Novi team immediately. We are looking for a talent with solid professional skills.

Summary:

This position reports to the Operations Manager of the department.  The incumbent ensures that product is welded to process, quality & required efficiency levels.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs the running of the equipment set up by others or independently
  • Performs required quality checks to ensure product is in compliance and in specification
  • Notifies Group Leader and/or Supervisor(s) of product defects or other serious occurrences
  • Documents and records all necessary information/data as per work cards and other company requirements
  • Performs equipment operational checks
  • Verify weld fixtures are maintained
  • High to low volume mix; low to high effort; all Level 1 muffler builds (internal/external) finish weld
  • Performs finish/cosmetic welds on product show surface
  • Performs proper housekeeping, clean-up and 5 S requirements
  • Performs all duties according to safety standards and company policies
  • Sets up and troubleshoot weld machines
  • Reads all five basic weld joints (Butt, Lap, Corner, Tee, or Edge Joint)
  • Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time

Desired Skills:

  • 1 to 3 years of related work experience
  • Certification and/ or technical training desired
  • Proficient with MIG and TIG welding
  • Able to read blueprints
  • Capable of finish welding
  • Strong Computer Skills
  • Possesses good understanding of general aspects of the job
  • Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific areas of discipline
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Moderate supervision from senior personnel.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • Must pass both written and practical weld test
  • Fluent in English

 

Weekly Schedule:

First Shift (6:00am – 2:30pm) Monday through Friday.

Subject to assessment of skills and qualifications by Active following a 90 working days probationary period.
